Join us for this year’s Riverfest – celebrating the Parramatta River and surrounds!

Riverfest 2023 is the Parramatta River Catchment Group’s annual, premier community event – celebrating the Parramatta River and its surrounding creeks and environment! This year’s event will be held from Saturday, 16 September (World Clean Up Day) to Sunday, 24 September (World Rivers Day).

Councils, community groups and Sydney Water will be running events at various locations across the catchment that focus on improving the health of our waterways, wildlife and their habitats and ways you can help.

The Parramatta River Catchment Group’s mission is to make the river swimmable again by 2025. Find out about our existing sites and more planned for the river over the next few years.

September is also Biodiversity Month so we will be highlighting citizen science events and activities for our iconic species. There are many ways you can get involved such as monitoring a creek or joining a clean-up.

Are you interested in holding an event or volunteering?

We are seeking expressions of interest from organisations and community groups who would like to run a Riverfest event. For more information on ways you can be involved, visit the Riverfest page or contact the riverkeeper@ourlivingriver.com.au.
