Get the Site Right is now in full swing! The month-long education and compliance campaign aims to educate builders and developers on the importance of properly maintaining their sites to prevent sediment runoff from polluting local waterways.

The March campaign highlights the growing need for effective site maintenance in light of rising building costs and forecast of more rainfall. On Thursday, 13 March officers from the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) and over 20 councils will join forces for a one-day compliance blitz, conducting inspections across the state. Improvements to this year’s campaign include expanded educational resources for builders and the community, such as a building site maintenance checklist and a leaflet aimed at home builders and renovators. We are also working with councils to standardise inspection reporting and promote best-practice erosion and sediment control.

Get the Site Right is coordinated by the Parramatta River Catchment Group in partnership with Cooks River Alliance, Georges Riverkeeper, Sydney Coastal Councils Group, NSW EPA, and councils across NSW. For more information, contact your local council or visit: ourlivingriver.com.au/getthesiteright.
