Get the Site Right May campaign urges builders to check site controls to save costs and protect waterways
Get the Site Right was once again held in May with more than 25 councils taking part across the Greater Sydney region and parts of NSW.
This year’s campaign focused on encouraging builders and developers to maintain their sites to save money, and not risk incurring increased fines, by preventing costly building materials from being blown or washed off sites and into local waterways.
The Blitz Day was held on Thursday 16 May with councils out in force to inspect a range of sites from single dwellings to large-scale residential developments.
The PRCG team joined Burwood, Canterbury Bankstown, Inner West, Parramatta and Ryde Councils, and NSW EPA compliance officers on site inspections across the catchment.
It was a great opportunity to meet new staff and talk to builders about the increased penalty notices and the important role they play in caring for our waterways.
The full campaign results will be reported in late June.
