Riverfest 2019

And that’s a wrap! It’s been a fabulous Riverfest 2019 with more than 25 tours, workshops and activities across six local government areas, showcasing some of the different and fun ways you can connect with the Parramatta River and its surrounds.

This year’s Riverfest was launched at the Masters Swimming NSW Open Water Swim at Lake Parramatta. More than 30 people braved the brisk conditions for the 1km and 2km course, which was won by Jenny Banks and Peter Thiel, respectively.

Over 10 days, people had the opportunity to choose from a wide range of events, including a river kayaking tour, boomerang bag making workshop, foreshore clean-ups, dragon boating, birdlife information session and habitat planting, garden tour and community picnic day.
